I want to congratulate all the people who have made this film possible (I really mean it, it don't rehearse for the oscar ceremony). So I say THANK YOU EVERYBODY!
Yes I knew I said not anymore animatic till the deadline but I've just done this one for Alex so he could work on the soundtrack and I am really happy the result. A last effort and it will be great.
We are now on the finish line and I don't think I will post another update of the animatic before the movie being finished. However I will post some bits from time to time: linetests and others.
Here is a kind of plan for the remaining weeks: I will finish my share of animation and inbetweens for the end of march and perhaps a few days in April ( 2 or 3 as a maximum). I hope all the other inbetweeners could do the same. I am doing one exception about the last scene with the siblings: this one should be completed for the end of the first week of April or midweek of the second week of April. It will be the last scene to be colored. For Alexander: I hope I will be able to send you a colored version of the last sequence before the end of this month so you could start working on the soundtrack.
Now here are some background I just completed (all the backgrounds will be finished at the end of this week). I spent a lot of evenings and weekends on those but it was worth the effort.
This just to say I am launching another blog to show personal work, mainly life and observational drawings. For the moment there's nothing to be seen as I will upload stuff next tuesday. However to start it you will find there a link to the last interview from the character design blog; take a look: it is so impressive I feel I will be depressed for the rest of the day next to my humble doodles.
I know; I am unforgivable to have delayed the invitations to the blog so far but I am very happy to have Lynne, Lynsey, Susan and Andrew on board. They are doing great work and I don't know how I could cope without their help.
Now some news: I will post a new animatic this wednesday and some linetests too so expect to see some new stuff soon.
This blog would like to be a production diary for the short I am currently making during my last year at The Duncan of Jordanstone College, Dundee, Scotland (animation cursus, as you could guess).
