NEW ANIMATIC!!!!
As promised here is the animatic updated with a lot of the bgs completed. There isn't any soundtrack as the old one didn't fit the animation timing any more.
Enjoy (I hope).

Welcome Alexander!
Hey !
We have an official sound designer on board now!
I am really impatient to hear what he will do to improve the soundtrack.
We are 8 people in the team now, without including the voice performers and there are room for more...

Welcome Elena and Andy!
Hello everybody!
We have two new members in our team: Elena has just started to inbetween a scene and Andy will give a hand with the CGI part. So many thanks to them: I hope they will enjoy the ride.
But for everybody who take a look at this blog, I really need more inbetweeners. The box with the scenes ready to be completed is nearly full. If you have to much work to give a hand before the end of this semester, it doesn't matter but could you inform me if you are interested for the next semester?
Thanks by advance!
A little message for Elena and Andy: all the team members could propose sketches for the end credits montage. It broadly explain what happens after the last scene: the Frog-gardener and Buddy work together at the garden and the Frog-gardener becomes a kind of school teacher for the young carnivorous plants. You could see samples in the first posts of this blog. So don't hesitate!
Oh and I nearly forgot: here is the link for the animatic (it isn't the more recent one but it will do for the moment).

Cheers,
Theresia

New videos from the recording session (and some linetest too)
Behold as I finally post the promised videos (and there's more to come):
Saturday, November 14, 2009
Hello everyone!
I should post linetests (I have quite a few new now) and videos from the recording session. In fact they are waiting on my pen drive but the computers of the computers' room are so slow that I have to go to the media lab to upload video. Thus this will wait a little. Instead I post some drawings I have made during the japanese tea ceremony performed yesterday at the DCA. They had been noticed by the organiser of the event and perhaps will be published on the event website. I will keep you informed.
Don't hesitate to comment (really, don't: I begin to feel a little lonely on this blog).
See all in good shape Monday.
Cheers,
Theresia

Record Session Video
Hi!
At least I have made the transfer from my camcorder to my laptop of the video we filmed of the recording session last year. Here are some tasty bits. You could see how Dean performance inspired the animation of the frog-gardener. Incidentally you could see Michael great work on the coloring of the animation.
Enjoy (more are coming).

15 FLD paper is dead, Long life to 12 FLD paper
Hello!
This just to inform you that my box of 15 field animation paper is empty and now we will carry on with 12 fld animation paper. We had the 15 fld paper because I ticked the wrong case when I took the order on the chromacolor website (sorry, sorry). I know that Freya has suffered from that paper. Now it will be better as the 12 fld will be easier to manipulate: less stress, more speed, all to be happy.
Michael has nearly finished the ink and paint of scene 13 and will soon start scene 36. Sarah has nearly completed scene 31 (she gave me tuesday as a deadline). And Freya has just some final touches to add at scene 33 before to attack scene 28. Ashley will start the trace over of scene 37 tomorrow. It is all working well and we are in time according to the schedule (but not in advance).
So congratulations to all and keep the good work going on!
Cheers,
Theresia

Happy Birthday Freya!

Welcome Sarah!
We have a new member in the team!
Sarah has just join us to help with the scan and Ink and Paint.
This is great because we begin to have more and more finished scene that are ready for this stage and Michael could end overwhelmed by a wave of papers.
Ashley has nearly finished her first scene with an impressive speed (so well done Ashley) and will had completed it if the evil painters didn't have hide the drawings (don't worry we will overcome their dark purposes).
Michael have finished the Ink and Paint of sc 9 and started sc 13. I should have enjoyed to show you the result but the video is at home (anyway without the CGI plate it will look a bit silly). In replacement I post the line test of the scene on which I am working. It is pretty rough but I hope to finish it for the end of the week.
A note for Sarah: look at the first posts of the blog (in August , I think). There I explain that I would to do a montage of sketches for the credits end and I like if everybody in the team could contribute.
See you and carry on the good work!
Theresia
Friday, October 9, 2009
It was a long time since I wrote the last post. Here is a little drawing from Freya conveying very well the way she must feel.
I hope she will be in full shape next week: I have a great scene to give her to inbetween (Yes, I know my interest didn't only come from my general kindness toward humanity). I have also a first animation to inbetween for Ashley: it is only one of the characters of the scene. The other one, Buddy, will be ready before she have finished this one.
It seems that uploading the linetests is too difficult for the computer right now so it should wait a little.
A little reminder: when you have finished your inbetweens and you give me back the scene, don't forget to include the field guide. If not we cannot scan the scene!
See you all Monday and have a great week end,
Theresia

Clean-Up
Hey team!
So, have finished clean-up 'pon Scenes 13, 33 and 36. So, behold, for your viewing pleasure! About to get started on a few separate projects of my own so my pace will slow a little, but am happily beavering away now on Scene 31, and a new scene I await for next week.

Welcome Ashley!
Hello!
We have a new member in the team so welcome to you Ashley!
You will find on your desk one copy of the model pack and some sample of animation so you could start practising the inbetweening. I think I will able to give you your first real scene in about 10 ten days from now. But feel free to intervene on this blog...
See you,
Theresia

scene 9
As promised this morning here is the scene 9 line test completed (inbetweens and keyframes).
See you soon,
Theresia
Hello!
Today is production meeting day!
I have prepared a schedule I hope achievable and a scene listing. I will have to talk you about the scene listing because it could help us in the future.
Anyway there are this week goals: Freya makes the clean-up of her scenes so they are ready to scan the week after. Michael makes the animation of scene 30 and 32 so he could complete them the week after and I could show him the Ink and Paint procedure. I finish scene 9 and make some more layout so Freya could have more inbetweens to do the week after ;)
I cannot yet post the animatic as I didn't manage till now to got one with a good enough quality under 100 Mo but I think it will possible before the end of the week. Anyway I will post the clean up of scene 9 today.
As a note of interest I add the scenes that Michael have to animate.
Cheers,
Theresia

Hello!
I have noted something interesting: Freya just posted an inbetweened shot and you could see my keyframe line-test of the same shot. So we could see the evolution. I hope we could see soon the ink and paint version and so on. When it will be finished I will try to post all the versions in a same message.
Also yesterday I gave Michael his first assignement: two shots to animate. Good luck Michael!
I hope to see some line tests soon on the blog.

First Inbetween Tests
Ta da! Let me know what you think. These are just the very first linetests, I'm sure you'll see some corrections that might be needed.
